Gender Equitable Boys in a Gender Inequitable World

This article offers insights from a qualitative study with a group of low-income heterosexual young men in Rio de Janeiro who follow alternative gender norms and exhibit progressive gender equitable attitudes and behaviours. The article considers the implications of this research for working with boys to promote gender equality and progressive social norms particularly around sexual and reproductive health.
